Taghthya Group Company, formerly A'amal Food Company, was established as W.L.L. company in 2002 with the main objectives to operate restaurants, soft dining, cafe and food catering. The legal status of the company is changing from W.L.L. to Kuwait shareholding Co. jointly with strategic partners (e.g. Hospitals, Diet clinic...etc) and the company's name was changed to Taghthya group Co. in August 2006. TGC is one of A'amal Holding Companies and is the owner of Diet Care. TGC is specialized in providing healthy food to its client base including hospitals and medical centres such as but not limited to Taiba Clinic and Sultan Centre.

Diet Care recognizes the important role of private companies in community health promotion and awareness.  Diet Care, a subsidiary of A’amal Holding Company is leading the way to promote healthy eating and well being among the Kuwaiti population, through the production of quality, low calorie, and delicious meals.  


A'amal decided to focus on this type of business because of the increase of health awareness globally. Obesity has become a global epidemic, approximately 1.6 billion adults (age 15+) were overweight; at least 400 million adults were obese in 2005.  World Health Organization ("WHO") further projects that by 2015, approximately 2.3 billion adults will be overweight and more than 700 million will be obese. At least 20 million children under the age of 5 years are overweight globally in 2005.
